101 squadron

Hello Janie.
I am putting together a display of medals, logbook and hopefully photos of a friends brother in laws that served on lancs with 101 squadron and flew one mission on the infamous SR H DV302 as rear gunner. The family parted with these medals and logbook on condition that they go on display in our museum. I am trying to find a good lancaster photo of either SRW or SRH to include in the display.
Out of curiosity, what was your dads name?

Peter

I am sorry that I cannot help you with photographs, but I would love to know why you are interested in 101 Sqn. That was my father’s squadron, so I am a somewhat fascinated myself. Most frustratingly, my father passed away in ’82 before I was involved in warbirds, so I was unable to ask him any questions.

DV302

Thanks 682.
I was up late last night and went through all my lanc books and founf the pics of her in the three that you mention. Strangely enough in the Claims to fame, there is a mission missing for DV302 for 1944……

Hi Peter,

DV302 was quite a famous Lanc, as you are probably aware, and photos can be found in Lancaster at War 2 and 5 and Claims to Fame. Can’t help with NG 139.

Regards!

Al
