Yes indeed, the B-29s were temporarily based at Lakenheath and Sculthorpe at the time.

What can I say but thanks again. The ‘Washingtons’ are according to the info on the back of the photo ’18 of a group of 27 from the 301 Bomb Group’ and were part of the final flypast at the display.

The Chipmunks were from Central Flying School (4 aircraft), plus one from 18 Reserve Flying School, and the Vampires in the background are from 601 and 604 Squadrons
