Daz You are absolutely correct about the pennants, clever clogs

“THE EARL of March has been compromising the dignity of a Marilyn Monroe lookalike.
As a taster for his Goodwood Revival Weekend – a 1950s festival to be held at his historic West Sussex racing circuit next month – he arranged for a platinum blonde model dressed as Monroe to stand next to him for a photo shoot.
Unfortunately, as they posed, a wartime Spitfire flew just 30ft above their heads. Monroe, alias Suzie Kennedy, took fright and the scene became rather undignified. Says my man in the Teddy Boy suit: ‘The Marilyn model was scared stiff. Lord March had to hold on to her tightly as she began to panic when the plane flew overhead. She was terrified because the Spitfire made a hell of a noise and caused a huge updraught.’ Lord March’s wife Janet, the daughter of Viscount Astor, clearly had a lucky escape. Although a fetching blonde herself, she wisely opted to look after the children at home. “
The Goodwood Revival Meeting is Sept 5-7 and in past years it has had the best Mustang display anywhere ever. Allegedly.

MarkV: There are no points for red herrings. We know you’re not that dumb.
Now go do penance and revise your pennants.

Ah yes! It’s the good old ‘stunt’ pilot with a ‘plane’
I suppose if Duggie B had used a carpentry tool to modify his legs then the words would be accurate. 😉

Hear, hear.
It’s like their constant use of ‘plane’. Makes it sound like a childs toy.

Bloody media. I do wish they wouldn’t keep using the word “stunt”. Makes it sound as though the pilot was not in complete control of his actions.

Pity you can’t read the article – obviously it’s about Ray and Mark Hanna, unless I’m wrong?
