I found this small picture and article in a Spring 1977 Canada Air Force magazine.
Any idea of what became of this Canadair NorthStar? The Canada Aviation Museum in Ottawa has the only perserved/stored left today. I don’t believe it is the same one. Anyone heard of this one before?

Thanks, again, Steve.
The depth of knowledge on this forum never ceases to amaze me.
As I was asking the question I wondered if it was when Keegan Aviation had a presence there.
For the nearly 50 years I’ve known it, Panshanger has varied between derelict and semi-derelict. A new club or company arrives, tarts bits up for a while and when they fail or move on it lapses into dereliction again.
I suspect it won’t be there much longer. Welwyn Garden City is steadily encroaching, in fact some is built on what was part of the airfield, and the new residents complain about it periodically.

North Star
The North Star at Panshanger was bought by Mike Keegan when Trans Canada Airlines (forerunners of Air Canada) sold off their fleet in the late 1950s/early 1960s. He had one or two others scattered around various UK aerodraomes as well.
The Panshanger aircraft was CF-TFN if I remember correctly (my records are at home) and I have a shot of it taken in 1963. It was scrapped around 1964/5.

Nothing to do with this one but one appeared at Panshanger sometime in the late 60s/early 70s. I’m fairly sure it was eventually broken up where it stood. For those that don’t know, Panshanger is a very small grass airfield near Welwyn Garden City. Anybody any idea what, why, when and more to the point, HOW?
The more I think of it, I’m pretty sure it would be 60s.
