Can you help ident this plane…..

I don’t post on this board but read most of the posts and find it all very interesting, and thought of this board when I came up with a blank on a plane ident. The photo is cropped like this so it’s only half of a plane to ident but does any one know what it is?

Confirmed as a Vickers Vildebeest.

S1710 was taken on charge with No.100 Sqn on 7th Nov 1932.

Moved to E and B Flight at Gosport and finally became a Ground Instruction Airframe on 25th Nov 1938 at St.Athan.

Newboy,

It’s a Vickers Vildebeest, an RAF torpedo-bomber that entered service in November 1932. They were replaced by Bristol Beauforts after the outbreak of World War 2.

Two squadrons based in Singapore fought against the Japanese when they invaded Malaya in December 1941. Many of the aircraft were lost.

This information came from Roy Conyers Nesbit’s book “The RAF in camera 1903-1939” (pages 148-149). Without it, I would’nt have had a clue.
