Does anyone know of a complete list/website of RAF aircrew who have been awarded the DFC? Also if someone was mentioned in dispatches where would that be recorded?
Regards,
Andy

Thanks for that link, Lancman.
The secretary of my model flying club is a retired Squadron Leader and has the AFC.
At least I now know when he got it, if not why.
Not the sort of thing you can ask, really.
“ere, Tone, what’d you get that for then?”

There is a book available, I would suggest through your library. It consists of two volumes The Distinguished Flying Cross
N & C Carter
Savannah
It lists all the winners of the medal and in most cases the citation from the London Gazette. It is a bit expensive about £150 that is why I suggest you try the library first. there is a companion set, again two volumes at the same price on the Distinguished Flying Medal

Try the London Gazette-they can be a good source on this sort of thing. Click ‘Archive’ from the home page this links to-
