Swedish Airshow

The attached information regarding the airshow at Lulea on the 14th June has appeared on MSF. It makes rather sad reading, does anybody have further details on the Swedish CAA requirements.

“The Hawker Hunter, which was expected to fly during the air display, is unfortunately not flying (at Lulea). The reason is that the Swedish Civil Aviation Authorities has suddenly imposed an excessively high airworthiness fee upon operators of veteran aircraft, something that is very much regretted by all aviation enthusiasts.

Also, the advertised USAF A-10 in the static display will be absent due to operational commitments in another area.

The participation of the Polish built An-2 Colt and the Grumman AgCat wing-walking act is also in jeopardy. The leader of the “flying circus” Pierre Holländer was tragically killed in an air accident in England on Saturday 31st May. “

How do you mean, all Dutch air shows have been cancelled?

I thought only the Lelystad air show was cancelled? The RNLAF Air Show is still on… right? I did intend on going there, alhtough it may be ahrd to combine with the Paris Air Show. Excellent scheduling…

Also, only a few weeks ago there was an airshow in Harreveld. They do that every year, remove the cows from some fields and the Achterhoek suddenly gets itself an international airport!

Unfortunately just for one day. 🙁

Maybe they phoned with the Dutch CAA. Thanks to those losers we don’t have any airshow left this year. All cancelled due to those CAA *****rs. BW Roger (who now travels abroad every weekend to see historic aircraft)
