Plastic Gloster

This is the new Gloster E.28/39 replica at Lutterworth, just off the M1 jct20. A monument to celebrate the work done by Frank Whittle in the town. http://www.pbase.com/image/16211702.jpg

BBC Midlands Today called it a Meteor. Obviously been looking through their I-Spy book of aeroplanes again.

Yes the other was for Farnborough.

Yes it is Farnborough.

I was in Lutterworth this morning (10 mins from home) to photograph the E28/39 with the weather being so good.

Farnborough, I think. Can’t swear to it, but it rings a bell. Can anyone else confirm this?

Thanks Stevie, nice picture!Good to see Whittle getting such a high profile monument. 🙂
I’ve heard that there is another of these replicas underway, although I don’t know where it will be displayed. There was something about this project in Aeroplane a few months ago.
