Some pictures I shot on 24.08.02 at the airshow at Mollis, a former Hunter base in a very picturesque setting in a narrow valley in the Glarus region between Chur and Zürich:
– the unique Morane D.3801,
– the equally unique EKW C-3603, a C-3605 which was remodified back to C-3603 status by removing the ugly long snout containing a Lycoming turboprop and refitting an original Hispano Y-12 (which the D.3801 also has),
– a rare Dewoitine D.26, of which two are airworthy in Switzerland, and
– a privately (!) owned Pilatus PC-7
The Swiss really know how to throw a good airshow! Enjoy!

RE: Swiss Airshow Exotica 2002
Nice pictures Keith, those Morane and Dewoitine fighters are quite mouth watering.
I agree with you about the qulity of Swiss airshows and would recommend them to anyone. I was fortunate enough to participate in Bex 98, now there is another airfield in a steep sided valley.
Highlights for me were:
Swissair 747-400 air display (that’s right) including down and dirty flypast while waggling wings
Patrouille Swisse upward bomb-burst accompanied by music and flare dispenser salvos
TFC Buchon, Hurricane, and spitfire IX electrifying ‘in the valley’ display
As soon as I get a scanner I will post the pics…

Excellent pictures Kenneth! You’re right about the scenery, that’s one hell of a backdrop,as if the aircraft weren’t enough! Thanks again Kenneth.
