Taped the fighter bombers and watched it this evening.

Some of it wasn’t bad, as already mentioned the continuity left something to be desired, but it was the commentary that annoyed me.
A lot of it was just inaccurate.
Eaxample: Mosquito FBVI. Very impressed by the four .303 machine guns and the 2000lbs of bombs but no mention of four 20mm cannon.
Fairly important part of the armament I thought.

I also fail to see how the Ju87 could possibly be described as the first fighter-bomber.

I skipped the fighter bombers thing and watched Aircrash on Ch.4 instead.Was pretty moving stuff,but the programme itself was a bit disorganised and had a rushed,mass produced feel about it.Can’t help thinking it couldn’ve been a little more sympathetically done,but still worth watching.Next programme is same time next week for anyone interested.

Yes, I saw the Lanc., too. I’d taped the prog. & did a quick rewind, just to check my eyes were not deceiving me!
Although I was quite impressed with the film of the Shelhaus Raid. I did think that some of the details were a bit ropey, on various aircraft/events. Plenty of Tempests in the Typhoon slot, too!

Watched the fighter-bomber programme.

Better than Blind Date, but really a bit superficial and won’t have added much to the sum of knowledge of most who post here. Some of the commentary was downright silly and inaccurate.

Is it me, or did the gun camera film of strafing the German aircraft on the ground end with a Lancaster being well and truly shot up. Captured aircraft or just stupid editing?
