Time for a new thread on this.
Okay, heres (a) plan for 2nd and 3rd March..
9am-ish for Runnymede, for anyone who wants to go on the way to Hendon, or who wakes up / arrives early enough.
10:30 – ish Meet up in the foyer at Hendon, exchange pleasantries and so on, and begin wandering
1-ish eat.
2-ish remove perch from underneath Lancaster. 2 – 6, heave.
3-ish nick the Typhoon from the exhibition hall, wander down to the tube and head into London itself, for a quick look-see at the IWM (proper visit later in the year, courtesy of Ashley). They only have 3 planes anyway.
Then, after we get booted out, either get a meal and a drink somewhere in the city, before picking cars up and leaving, OR, return to cars, head out to Shepperton (where I have somebody working on good prices for us to stay overnight, if it’s a good enough price). Those who want to make a weekend of it can check in, the rest can hang around by the fireplace, before we all trot off to have a meal (very good restaurant just up the road, or eat there), and do the raffle (donate a prize each? And any objections to it going towards my Johnny Wiseman memorial, due to be unveiled 14th July, on this occasion? That should just about get me to the target for the stone, with the possibility of a bench with leftovers. The story and thread on that is here:

Next morning, head south (slightly) from Shepperton to Brooklands, after breakfast, to arrive for 10am opening. Bimble about, have a look around, and then after lunch, head north to the Mossie museum, until booted out at 5:30pm. This does, of course, negate the possibility of a stroll around the Science museums airframes, but we can always tie that in with the IWM visit later in the year. (unless we do IWM and Science museum on the Sunday instead of Brooklands / Mossie museum)
A busy weekend, but should be easy enough, and very enjoyable. I’ll get a price on rooms tonight from my mate, and the more who attend, the merrier – so brings some friends along if you like.
IWM and Hendon are free entry, Mossie museum is a fiver, and Brooklands around £8 I think.
I will need definite numbers to book the hotel, so an email to snapper35@hotmail.com would be appreciated for those who want to do two days (if enough of us do to make it worthwhile)
See you there.

RE: Meet Up No. 2 – new thread. The plan.
Dunno if I can make it yet,but it’s in my neck of the woods so I hope I’ll be able to.
Btw,the IWM at Lambeth has more than 3 airframes, and there are a number of other aviation artefacts dotted around the upper galleries and down in the display cases in main exhibition areas.A vist to the IWM can’t really be done quickly!
