RE: New Curator at East Fortune

I think he is. At least he was when he left EF. Perhaps he might tell us what he is up to now himself.

Definately , at least Adam was approachable , Miss Whiplash just liked the sound of her own voice , constructive criticism meant nought to her (is she on display in the Surgeons Hall Museum or doe’s she actually work there?)

Hey I know it would have taken more than a couple of hours but at times it seems that there were a few cases that could have, how can I word this without causing offence, been put to better use. 🙂

I sure do wish we had you back at times though.

I assume that gbwez1 is you Mr Adam Smith.

Hows things going with you. Thanks for your comments on the forum by the way.

The above post wasnt a dig at you directly but you were the one in the firing line when it came to irrate members of the public. Do you remember the conversation. It cant have been that long before you left. I hate to say it but I think things have slid just a little at the museum since you left. I am sure there are a few passionate people on this forum who think the same. Although it is the museum we all love and know so well. I can think that anyone of us will abandon hope of the museum becoming a thriving success that it deserves to be. Cant help thinking that it full potential is really shining through though.

RE: New Curator at East Fortune

Well at least I got those cases filled in the end…

…and it probably took more than a couple of hours to do it… man, if you did something like put the WRONG SERIAL NUMBER on one of the captions, heck, those website forum guys would be all over you!!! 🙂

RE: New Curator at East Fortune

Hi Keith, der , alastair

I havent met the new curator yet but no doubt I will.

I think I have seen the Bone Dome in the display case and I think I am right in thinking it is still there.

When Adam Smith was there I had a go at him for the number of empty cases sitting around as there must be loads of aquisition the could fill a case with. I got the reply that there were no empty cases only ones waiting restock. Now cmon what does it take to print off a few cards and fill a cabinet. A couple of hours at most. But when I wentt back there were no empty cases.

Hi Alastair, The last time I saw my Bone Dome it was in a glass cabinet marked new acqisitions near the entrance to the main Hangar. It was a standard Tornado type helmet, green with the white cross on top.

RE: New Curator at East Fortune

Keith ,
I’ve already Emailed the new curator just to welcome him to the job and ask if the MoF Forum will be back. Is your bonedome in the display cases behind that big missile / rocket thing or is it the one in the Meteor (green with white cross on top).
I hope you get the use of their facilities , that would be superb , there are a lot of enthusiasts up here who would jump at a technical workshop class .

RE: New Curator at East Fortune

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 10-01-03 AT 09:05 PM (GMT)]I’ve not met him yet. But I’m intending to contact him soon to see if he will allow me to use the presentations room to perhaps start doing some technical presentations and allow access to the aircraft as part of that. I’d also like to find out if they ever intend to use any of the items I donated. So far the only item I’ve seen on display is my old “Bone Dome”. I’m hoping to get a more positive response than I did from the previous incumbent!
