In about 1966 a Valletta turned up at RAF Oakington and was transported to the fire dump area.Being curious airmen ,myself and a friend had a look inside and it was full of old generators and starter motors and other electrical items,being both elect mechs we knew there was a fair amount of copper looking at us,unfortunatly at that moment the resident RAF policeman turned and in thier usual polite fashion told us to go away and leave things be!As if we had any other ideas!Also saw Lincolns being chopped up at Aldergrove @1960.I think component parts would obviously be used if they were common to other types ,obviously in the case of the Valletta this was not so.
