Would it not have just been alot easier to repaint it in Qantas colours? They’ve had it for such a long time now… I think i heard a while back it was due to come back to BA before Xmas last year, and then the dat was changed to early this year… but they still have it?
Any info anyone?

I don’t quite know what it is with these horrible hybrids but I have to admit I actually quite like them – lol this bird actually looks smart in a sauded way!!

yep it was to originally replace the Qantas B744 that had to have a whole new front end put on it after an accident. The reason the Tail is now white is due to complaints from US ATCs i think at LAX about the fact they were confusing the A/C with a BA one due to te “Denmark” tail scheme it used to wear – now it just looks tacky!

Philo – the Falcon Six uses a Gipsy Six series engine . The former Skysport machine (G-AEEG) is a straight Falcon and in it’s case it’s
powered by a Gipsy Major rated at 145 h.p

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 12-11-02 AT 08:34 PM (GMT)]It looks to me as if the Falcon Six has a sharper formed tail, as seen in the enclosed shot. Another difference is that the Spanish Falcon is fitted with a Me-109 tailwheel section. Sorry for the horrible way it is scanned. BW Roger

Nice picture Roger,thanks for putting it up.The UK registered Falcon is G-AEEG,an M.3A model,but to be honest I can’t tell the difference between the two.

It is claimed to be the sole survivor, I think that other miles falcon’s just look almost the same, but I am not a “Miles” specialist. BW Roger

No, it is not digital. Shot on Kodak Elitechrome 100 iso slide film. The film I have been using for 6 years now.
