I am working in the Swindon area for a few days in November and as a ‘Northen Lad’ I was wondering what are the local aviation highlights I can enjoy whilst in town?

RE: SWINDON MUSEUMS
You might be lucky and find the science museum open at Wroughton just out side the town. Some nice aircraft in there that a rarely seen.
Its not too far to Kemble as already suggested or to RNAS Yeovilton. Southampton hall of Aviation is only an hour away. Active bases like Lyneham, Fairford and Brize Norton are a relatively short hop, Dalton Barracks (former RAF Abingdon) is just up the A420 if you like Helos.
I have just seen a JP go over probably heading for Kemble so all in all its not too bad an area.

Kemble is that far from Swindon I’m sure, if that’s any help.
