2 shots of the CR-42 at St Athan in ’75. I might have posted the first shot before, but the second is new. The most difficult bit of the repaint was reproducing the crest on the fin, but some of the RAF painters are also very good artists, as you can see if you get up close to the aircraft. I tried to get the aircraft out for people at the weekends in those days. It’s difficult to move big birds, but the Museums could be more pro-active during the summer months. Aircraft are best in the air, but failing that, parked outside gives better photo opportunities.
