Canberra TT18 G-BURM leaving on…

I was told at Popham today that English Electric Canberra TT.18 WJ680 G-BURM would be leaving Bournemouth Airport on its ferry flight on Friday 10th May.
This is of course subject to aircraft, weather and pilot serviceability.

Hope this interests someone

That would be Phil Shaw who was flying it, the RNHF Sea Fury/Swordfish pilot.

Jet Heritage folded in August 1998, some of the aircraft that they operated are still at Hurn under the De-Havilland theme, whilst others are in open storage on the other side of the airfield.

What happened to Jet heritage?

I’ll sure miss that Canberra – it was among my 5 favourite warbirds.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-05-02 AT 09:24 AM (GMT)]De-Havilland Aviation are based there with their Sea Vixen, Vampires and Venom. There are a few other warbirds based, including the former Jet Heritage Meteor and Vampire team, a couple of Hunters and Gnats plus some other stuff. All this is viewable through the excellent Bournemouth Aviation Museum.

On the other side of the airport is the Source Classic Jet Flight with their fleet of about 8-12 Vampire/Venoms. Some are parked outside the hangar which is viewable from the Museum.
