Sitting here twiddling me thumbs looking at pictures of air shows past,
Mainly the Great War Birds shows of the 80’s and a well-known celebrity and his Japanese painted Harvard/Texan displaying. And got to thinking what other famous people in the entertainment business have a fascination with Warbirds and who have
Aircraft and are able to fly their expensive toys.

He did have a Vampire – a pic in the late lamented Warbirds Worldwide showed the smooth moover in front of his (ex-Swiss?) Vampire.

An aerial photo of his house showing this appeared last week in one of the Mail on Sunday supplements. He’s got 2 ‘plane ports’, and there was a biz-jet parked in the other one….

Hughie Green flew some very interesting aircraft Martin Mariner for the RAF IIRC? There wasa feature on him in Flypast / Air Enth some time back I think.
John Travolta can ‘drive’ his 707 up to his ‘plane port’ and walk from there into his house. I kid you not, there was a link to a photo of the place on WIX some time back. Amazing.

I seem to remember him coming into Croydon with this.

No, well unless you count the Radio 2 webcam. I believe Noel’s last BBC performance was standing in for Johnnie Walker – who has cancer – a couple of months ago – in the “Drivetime” 5 to 7pm spot.
I might be mistaken, though.
