Picture of the day 22/12/01

Hopefully we might see one of these more frequently in the future.

I too have walked through that same Super Connie, and on the contrary WAS very impressed that a volunteer organisation can manage to keep such an expensive and complex machine in the air for our delight, not to mention their Neptunes and Dakotas as well.

I would never baulk at paying for the privilege of getting onboard such a fine machine, knowing that my minor contribution is helping to keep it flying.

I know this is a bit late, but I’m only a new member!

There’s a connie flying down here, named “Connie”. It’s in QANTAS markings but is an old USAF MATS super constellation. I’ve been through it and was un-impressed, and the fact that they make you pay to walk through it is unbeliveable. I perfered the good old C-47

Success comes to those who earn it, revenge to those who take it and death to anyone who tries to cheat the system. Welcome to Therapy!

Hopefully the ex-Dominican Swiss Super Connie will still fly when it gets here. Let’s hope so…

Now THAT ladies and gents,is one damn fine beautiful piece of American flying machinery!I saw her at Biggin Hill in ’98.She was simply stunning, both on the ground and in the air.
In the evening I did the walk-through and had a good walk around her from the outside too.The smell of oil and fuel and hydraulic fluid, the oil smears on the cowling, and the sunset reflected in the aluminium skin.I had to tear myself away!
I look forward to the day when she might return…
As a side note, does anyone know if the Aviadome’s Connie will be doing any UK shows before she goes on static display?I’ve simply got to see another Connie!
