Does anyone have a clue as to what the aircraft is in this photo of a Belfast load?
The photo is a few years old. 😉
Cheers

This photograph is a bit of a puzzle.
Clearly a version of 1940 ‘photo-shopping’ has gone on. But what is it all about?
The inscription says “Thursday Oct 31st 1940 H.Petty ?”
Petty was a Littlehampton photographer and the building is said to be a Littlehampton or Rustington pub. A swastika seems to have been inked onto the fin.
Would love to know the story behind the image!
Other than it’s a re-touched Blackburn Shark, nothing to contribute!

good try
the pictures are on a film set for a film diected by H. Danziger in june of 1955. It was called “Satellite in the Sky” and the pilot is actor Kieron Moore.
Shame the aircraft crashed 3 months later but at least it sired a great aircraft in the gnat
A neighbour passed the pictures to me to try and identify which did try the old grey matter a bit.

Fresh paint but no markings. Hmmm. It only flew for a year before crashing in 1955. When it was flying it carried the class B registration G-39-1. The project pilot was Teddy Tennant, this might be him, but he has the look of an actor on a film set. The location could be Boscombe Down. I am guessing this is pre the 11 August 1954 first flight.
Blind guess – Folland marketing team preparing for their sales launch to Finland, India etc.
Excellent pics and thanks for posting them. We need to see more like this from this period.
