So, it is 2125 tonight west of Salisbury (UK) and a clear, still night. I hear an aircraft approaching low down and see navigation lights through the trees. Initially I hear it as a helicopter but this quickly became a very quiet turboprop (possibly multi engine).
Ten seconds later a second one flies over at the same height (normally associated with Apaches out of Middle Wallop), with the same quiet turboprop sound which goes as quickly as it arrived.
What could it be?
Osprey is not quiet is it? I would say they were travelling around 80-100 kts.
