Where next for Europe?

We have had a few of these threads over the past years, but with Britain and France working on something beyond the reinvigorated Taranis/Neuron and Germany saying it wants a new project to replace Tornado, are we actually making progress?

I understand (using all my powers) that FCAS is aimed at a UCAV. I have however had a heated discussion with others on the web who believe its just biding time till they can work on the replacement to Typhoon/Rafale.

Is there any evidence to support this idea (I have yet to see it) and is Germany destined to join Britain and France (with the inevitable delays that will follow)?
