True, but a night fighter’s approach was actually gradual and stealthy as they homed in first by radar and then switched to visual once in eyeball contact.
Any driver approaching with a 100 mph differential was giving his Radar Op zero chance of maintaining a contact.
I’d guess the speed differential would typically be 20 mph or less
But I’m just guessing and extrapolating from reading books such as the excellent Rawnsley & Wright Night Fighter. I could well be wrong.
