The conclusion appears to be: we need another big war.

Back in the old days military nersa could do real comparisons of aircraft, equipment and tactics cause they were employed in real life shooting wars.

Today the modern military nerd is forced to rely on brochures, catalogues and infomercials from various suppliers and military propaganda statements.

Seems to me we need a nice big war or two to test all these companies big claims.

To get reasonable sample size, it should encompass a land war in Europe (say Ukraine – great tank territory) and Asia Pacific (test naval concepts) as well as Indian subcontinent slugfest (awesome for testing out different design ideologies in different environmental conditions).

I suspect most of us are past active service age so we can sit at home, crack open a beer and watch the thing play out on Fox.
