2019 USMC says "bye bye" to EW capability

Well here’s an interesting article:

http://www.marinecorpstimes.com/article/20130722/NEWS04/307220038/Veteran-Marine-pilots-Don-t-retire-EA-6B-Prowler-yet

Apparently come 2019 USMC EA-6Bs Prowlers will be withdrawn without replacement. Well the replacements are kind of mooted (UAC and F-35) but according to the article those capabilities are apparently years away after 2019.

That leaves the US electronic attack capability based exclusively on E/A-18Gs operated by USN.

The funny thing is USAF retired it’s EF-111A Sparkvarks and then relied on USN and USMC for EW support.

Now they’re going to lose access to the USMC component as well!

Meanwhile the USN’s 114 E/A-18G will be heavily tasked having to support not only USN CAGs but also USMC and USAF!
