RAFO Jaguar accident, Dhofar

An official source at the Ministry of Defence has confirmed an accident involving two Royal Air Force of Oman Jaguar fighter jets during a routine training mission in the wilayat of Rakhyut in Dhofar governorate on Wednesday.
The source added that the accident resulted in the death of Ft Lt Al Azhar bin Humaid bin Hamad al Shraiqi; the other pilot survived.
There was no damage caused by the accident in the area where the jets crashed as it was an unpopulated stretch of land in Rakhyut. The Ministry of Defence said that it mourns the death of Ft Lt Shraiqi and extended its condolences to his family. muscatdaily.com
