Amazing Weapons Loads – JAS-39 Gripen

First off, this thread is about the GRIPEN……I’m writing this sentence for F-18 Growler so he isn’t confused on the topic…

Anyways, with all the talk of the JF-17 and the FA-50 light fighter types around here lately, I thought it time to bring up the penultimate light fighter of the modern era…Saab’s Gripen. It’s small, and generally I’m not a big fan of little fighters, but the Gripen is far and away my favorite Eurocanard. I thought it would be fun to see what people can come up with as it can carry quite an array of weaponry these days.

Below is one my favorites…I believe it’s an older photo of a JAS-39C & JAS-39D (in the foreground) with a load of AIM-9’s (JAS-39D) and AIM-120’s/AIM-9’s (JAS-39C).

The Gripen NG demonstrator with GBU-10’s (GBU-24’s?), Meteor (mock-ups?), and IRIS-T missiles.
