***EDITED TO 2016 DUE TO THE OLYMPICS***
With many scenarios regarding the Falklands/Malvinas circulating the net concentrating on the current Argentine forces and the cash strapped government, including scenarios involving Argentine J-20s  I would like to propose an alternative scenario.
2016 – Brazil and Venezuela voice their support for Argentine claims to the Falklands/Malvinas. Argentina invades. With the Argentine forces limited to a fleet of Pampa and Pucara aircraft and two elderly frigates, Brazil and Venezuela agree to support Argentine actions with their fleets of more modern aircraft and warships.
Brazil deploys 6 Mirage 2000’s to Argentine territory while Venezuela add’s a fleet of six Su-30MKV’s. These aircraft will provide air superiority over the islands while a fleet of eight Brazilian A-1s provide an attack fleet supporting Argentinas last A-4R’s.
Small numbers (2-4 of each) of Brazilian and Venezuelan Mi-35s, Panthers and Mi-17s are used to support Argentine land operations.
Flying from their own territory, Britain is now faced with the remaining Brazilian and Venezuelan air and naval forces which are tasked with attacking the Royal Navy if it ventures into striking range.
In addition to aircraft, Brazil deploys two Broadsword frigates to the Malvinas area along with two SSK’s to support the Argentine fleet. Venezuela’s Lupo class frigates have been spotted leaving port with a small escort fleet heading into the Atlantic. The location of the first recently delivered Venezuelan Kilo SSK is a mystery.
Brazilian P-3 aircraft are active in the Atlantic close to the northern tip of Brazil’s coast, these aircraft are again tasked with stopping/delaying the Royal Navy. They are being escorted by Brazilian Mirage 2000’s and Venezuelan Su-30MKV’s.
Is this a force that could stop a Royal Navy task force in 2015?
