Aircraft Retirements in 2012

2012 saw more old birds (and some suprisingly new birds) retired to the history books:

Argentina: IAI Finger (I much prefer the IAI Dagger name though).

Australia: C-130H

Belarus: Su-24 and Su-27

Bulgaria: MiG-21

France: Mirage F1CT (Mirage F1CR still in service to 2014)

Italy: F-16A/B

Sweden: JAS-39A/B

USMC: CH-53D (last of the 2 engined models)

USAF C-5As and C-27J’s have been saved for the time being.

2013 will see the retirement of German F-4F Phantoms.

Following couple of years will also see retirement of HAF A-7s, Spanish Mirage F1s and French Super Etendard.
