Mya-4: is it so terrible?

First of all, the weapon bay seems small indeed, I don’t know anyone here are willing to share some colorful photo of it, which I were unable to find by searching google, nor the size data.
Secondly, I wonder why Soviet didn’t develop a more powerful engine based on PL-7, which seems more potential than AM-3 for Mya-4.
