If you believe John Pike, he says the initial goal of the J-10 was to develop an indigenous fighter that could respond to the Su-27 and MiG-29 being fielded by the USSR at the time. now with all three fully out.. did the J-10 meet this goal? assume that Sino-Soviet relations and Sino-Russian relations were still bad to this day.
