Joint Military/Civil Airfields

Hi all.

I have been asked by a friend of mine who lives in Australia if there has ever been any joint use airfields in the UK, past or present. He was asking about Anglesey (Valley) as I know Manx2 operate flights out of there but they are subsidised by the Welsh Government. Do you know of any more? I can’t think of any off the top of my head. I was thinking of Stornaway or Benbecula but I am not sure of their history.
