Hey folks just seeking your opinion on the following idea bouncing around my head:-
Could the Rolls Royce Pegasus serve as a viable engine for stealth aircraft with a few simple modifications? I’m not talking F-22/35 class, more Taranis/UCAV:
Get rid of the existing vectoring ability and instead pipe the gases to two conventional style exhausts at the rear, in doing so, mixing cool air from front nozzle ports with hot air from rear nozzle ports to reduce overall IR signature.
Practical? Desirable? Or far too many compromises for negligible gain?
