Argentina joining KC-390 program!

Felt this was worth a new thread as this is a rather big game changer for the UK.

I was idly flicking through my new copy off AFM when I took note of the item on the bottom right of page 22.

Argentina is joining the KC-390 program with the intention of purchasing six transports. Now whilst the UK wouldn’t lose much sleep over the transport capability the tanking is another issue. Six KC-390 would give Argentina the capability to refuel its fighters and comfortably sortie aircraft over the Falklands. With decent tanking capability in numbers they could recycle over the Falklands faster then 1435 could with just four airframes. At the moment Argentina can’t recycle aircraft over the Falklands faster then 1435 can launch, intercept and return to base to rearm.

This is actually a serious game changer they could get enough aircraft up now that if they timed it right the Typhoons would end up being caught out refueling at the base.

Worth a debate methinks!
