What legs do it for you????

‘Something a little different’!!

Now when I look at an attractive lady walking by, the first thing I usually look at is……………………her legs.
With combat aircraft for some unknown reason, I often do the same!
As you can often tell a lot about the woman because of her legs – shape, fitness and athleticism, the same goes for combat aircraft landing gear

For some reason I have always appreciated aircraft landing gear arrangements from a head-on aspect!

Some of my favorite and purposeful looking in my mind are the likes of:
– Mirage F1
– Su-24 ‘Fencer’
– Jaguar (especially the carrier-based proposal!!)
– A-10 Thunderbolt II
– F/A-18
– Viggen
– Su-34 ‘Fullback’

I think some of my attraction is drawn to aircraft that have been designed for STOL and or rough airfields!

On the other side of the coin there are some outstanding aircraft that’s landing gear that look to flimsy or the R&D budget just ran out when the designers got to the landing gear i.e the F-15’s, the F-16’s

Whist others look that complicate that you need and engineers degree to figure it out – i.e the MiG-23 and MiG-27’s landing gear!
Now hows all that landing gear fold and store in the fuselage???
