It’s with enormous sadness that I report the death of Bill Green – one of the last of the ‘golden generation’ of aviation writers, and who, with the late Gordon Swanborough, was responsible for the Observers Book of Aircraft, for RAF Flying Review>Flying Review International>Air International and for a plethora of books – of which probably the best known was his ‘Warplanes of the Luftwaffe’.
Bill was a total aviation person, and a clever and effective businessman, and his influence on succeeding generations of aviation writers was enormous.
