What is to believe in Super Hornet propaganda?

Boeing says wonders about this plane: better AoA, one of the best RCS in the field, better thrust availability, yada yada yada. I’m no expert at all, just an enthusiast (?) but to me looks like the best improvements came from sensors, avionics and weaponry that from the aircraft itself. Am I wrong in thinking that way? For example, it just doesn’t make sense to me that it has lower RCS than the legacy Hornet. I adopter another design for the engine intakes, right, bur they surely incresed in size. Can de the new design make up for the increase in frontal area? Plus, the rest of the plane didn’t change much and still became larger. The engines also are more powerful, but the plane also became heavier and the top speed didn’t change much overall
I see many experts here, what are the impressions you get from the SH, do you have feedback from USN pilots?
The argument comes often in brazilian discussion boards with the iminent conclusion of the FX-2 programme. My opinion is that the F-18 airframe with future improvements has a trend to become obsolete sooner. I mean, wouldn’t a F-16 for exemple equiped with similar(?) radar and weapons be a better plataform and live longer to usefulness?
