OK, I got this project idea while drinking (more than) a couple of glasses of weissbier’s:
What is “stealth”?
The overall umbrella term used for technology and techniques deployed to make an aircraft (almost) invisible to enemy sensors, mainly radars, right?
Some while ago, Boeing came up with this new F-15 variant, F-15SE Silent Eagle….
Boeing claimed that by using CFT’s as weapon bays and using a new coating technology, they achieved “RCS values of export F-35’s”.
Here is the deal:
Take an F-5A Freedom Fighter (or F-5E, it doesn’t matter)
Put some good avionics, HUD, MFD in it,
Coat it with this superb coating material of F-15SE,
Put Link 11/16 in it.
Arm it with 2 x AIM-9X and 2 x AIM-120C’s
Then you get the “wunderwaffe”, the real serial killer of skies at the lowest cost possible!
-> You benefit from all the transformational network centric warfare yada yada by employing Link 11/16 + AIM-120…
-> A coating technology which lowers the RCS of F-15E to less than F-35 (Export) must be expected to practically make an F-5A totally invisible PLUS no radr = no emission = TOTAL COMPLETE 100 PERCENT STEALTH.
-> By the advantage of small size and good profile, you are also visually very hard to detect.
You can also further enhance the design by purchasing engineering consultancy from Iranians in canted vertical tail design area…
What’ya think?
P.S: The same idea can also be applied to MiG-21 to attract Fishbed / F-7 users…
