The answer to your PM is I really don’t know, I have never seen a picture of a F1 cockpit, I normally find the research Dept at RAF Hendon very good. Drop them a line and they will send you some illustrations of a F1 cockpit layout. They normally charge a nominal fee for the photocopying and postage.

It’s a very comprehensive read on all the different variants of the Meteors built.
