Question – Aircrew safety: Today vs Yesterday

I’m a newcomer to this forum and I’m hoping that someone can guide me to some sources where I can determine, or at least try to determine, the impact of advanced avionic technologies on the safety of military pilots and flight crews.

The horrific life expectancies of the WWII airmen vs today’s has me wondering if there is a way to actually quantify the differences.
