Mud movers!!!

Can any1 explane to me why more airforces dont operate cheep low teck mud mover!
the chances these days of any westen country coming up against a moden airforce is farly slim! however it seems obvious to me that there will be more low teck wars! and what most armys need is the sort of close support that most armys recived in ww2!

and to put it anotherway how many basic a10’s could a airforce buy for the cost of one f22??? And what would be more usefull in iraq and afganastan 2day?

dont get me wrong i love fast jets but in pratical terms using very expensive, extremley high mantinance, advance fighters 2 drop dum iron bombs doesnt seem like the best idear to me!

so what cheep mud movers are there out there (both light and heavy)
