Found these two photos on the internet recently, and I was wondering if anyone could provide me with more information on them.
The first is the Jet Squalus, which I believe was a Belgian (?) jet trainer prototype of some sort? I’ve never heard of it, and I don’t know much about it. Any of our European friends have some good information on it?
Secondly, the BAe 146-STA prototype. I’ve heard of this, but until recently never seen a picture. I didn’t even know they had a “prototype.” I’m wondering….I mean obviously there were no takers, but what all was said on the performance of this thing? Was it a good airplane with bad luck or did it have some unfavorable qualities that steered customers away from it. I’ve always liked the 146/Avro RJ series of airliners. They have always reminded me of a mini-C-5/C-17/C-141/Il-76 type airplane, and thus when I saw this version with the camo and the refuelling probe it just looked so natural to me.
