Is the ARH-70A enough?

as most of you know, the current combat scout/escort/recce helo for the U.S. Army is the OH-58D Kiowa Scout Warrior which is a Bell 406 . The current plans to replace the OH-58D are with a new improved version of the Bell 406, designated the Bell 417 which is much like the new Bell 407 (as seen here) http://defence-data.com/storypic/arh-70adesert.jpgCompared to nations like Australia, Germany, Britain, Russia and Japan who use combat scout helos like the Tiger, A129, Super Lynx 300 etc, I ask, is the United States actually lacking in this category? Is a some-what updated, more powerful Kiowa/Bell 400 series the answer? Or is this all a scout/recce helo should be?
