Aussies to get Growlers?

Story in last week’s Av. Leak, surprised there hasn’t been any comment here.

Seems the inter-operability of the AESA equiped SH and the Growler are significant enough to threaten proposed JSF purchases, perhaps not just in Australia?

Notwithstanding the justified gripes against the SH aerodynamic performance here and on other forums, it seems that said performance is not what will win in the future. The focus seems to be on sensors, software, integration, modern weapons, interoperability, and numbers. Oh yeah, and reliability.

There are always lots of voices shouting (whining?) about the SH not being a “real” fighter, but when facts emerge to point out it’s strengths, it gets real quiet……
