With the ongoing war (read: genocide) in Darfur and all the talk of a UN intervention or even no-fly zones established over the area, the subject of the Sudanese AF becomes an important one: what condition and combat strength does Khartoum possess??? We know of their MiG-29 purchases, but are these aircraft fully armed and operational??? how many HINDs and HIPs do they possess for the gunship role??? How many Chinese F-7s and A-5s are operated (I heard of 15-20 new A-5s recently)…this seems like an interesting topic due to the paucity of info/ORBATs/pictures of this “important” AF on the web.
