How do I get from London to Fairford/RIAT

I intend to RIAT in 2007, for the first time since…well…the mid nineties.

I´m looking for hints from experienced air show hooligans concerning dos and dont´s.

1) What´s the best way to travel from London to Fairford (with what, how, from where)

2) Staying in London. Decent but cheap hotels? Or should I stay elsewhere?

3) I will, as for the moment at least, attend both days. One day for static and wondering about getting a grandstand seat for one day. Is grandstand worth the extra money or am I better of with sharp elbows?
