M311 – a good Tucano replacement?

Last weeks Flight carried a report of an M311 test flight. An interesting read, & a very positive opinion of it by the test pilot. Assuming the operating costs are right, it sounds from what he wrote as if it would be a very good fit for the RAFs new trainer requirement, being able to cope with what the Tucanos now do, take over some of what is now done by Hawk T.1, & fit very nicely with the new (& much fewer in number) Hawk 128s, leaving them free for the top-end stuff.

What think you all? Would the M311 be a good buy?
