AMX deliveries to Venezuela later this year? Will it break the U.S. export ban?

It is interesting that the long delayed AMX export sale to Venezuela is still apparently on, with deliveries scheduled for later this year? The first contract was apparently signed in 1999, while the upcoming deliveries would seem to stem from a later 2002 contract signed with Embraer.

The irony is that the AMX production line has been closed since 1997/1998!

The only available airframe are stored Aeronautica Militare machines with very substantial American content.

If the re-export of American content to Venezuela is made, it is very likely that both Brazil and Italy will face very significant consequences.

Could Italy’s C-27J and Aermmachi M-346 programs continue if the U.S. blocks further export of U.S. content?

Could Embraer’s entire civilian production line be shut down? This would be very good news for Bombardier.
