This may have been done in the past, skimming the forum did not show any matches, though.
Referring Panavia Tornado:
1) Why was the UK the only country of the consortium which developped, pruchased and fielded the ADV variant? Why not Italy (aging F-104´s) or Germany (aging F-4s)? Did the requeriments differ so much? What about the economics, wouldn´t it have been even cheaper to field the ADV´s instead of keeping the aging Phantoms and Strafighters fliying (me knows, cute sexy planes, both, but so is the Tornado).
2) Along the same lines, why was the Tornado ADV double seated? Most air superiority fighters of the time were already single seaters (Mirage 2000C, F-15C, also the russians). Double seated fighters with WSO (like F-4 or F-14)seem outdated by the time of ADV´s fielding, kind´a, or not?.
