I’ve read that the F-14 wing area is about 565 sq ft, the F-15 about 608, and the F-22 about 740. Wing area/wing loading directly correlates to maneuverability.
I’ve seen some of those cool vapor forming pictures, and saw one of an F-14, and from the picture it appeared a very significant amount of lift was produced by the fuselage/center wing box area.
My question: Is it reasonable to compare the different numbers and infer maneuverability, given that the fuselage also contributes lift?
Thx.
